Next Door Rentals is a family-owned and operated party supply rental company serving Philadelphia and its surrounding counties since 2017. Founded by two event professionals, Next Door Rentals (NDR) provides a rental experience that is reliable, affordable, and mindful of the needs of our diverse customer base. Through superb and intuitive customer service, we work with event hosts to create memorable experiences, including everything from weddings and graduations to family reunions and backyard events. Our inventory selection provides the basic event needs of seating, dining, and display for events from 1 to a 100+ guests.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary purpose of this job is to safely and efficiently deliver and/or set-up event rental products within the agreed upon time frame and in accordance with a contractual agreement. 

The Person in this position will be responsible for loading/unloading rental items, driving the delivery vehicle, and maintaining equipment and rental items as needed. NDR rents tents, tables, chairs, and a variety of related event items. 

Work Culture

Crew Members are company representatives in the field and must exhibit friendly, informed, and courteous customer service. They should be aware of all company procedures and policies to assist customers with orders and questions as needed. Clear and consistent communication between the NDR team is fundamental. 

Work Conditions

As a Crew Member you will work under a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on, physically demanding job subject to schedule and priority changes. Lifting of at least 70 pounds multiple times per day is a required part of this position, therefore applicants should be in good physical condition. 

Work Hours

Contract. Ideal for an individual that values flexible, alternative work schedules. Work days are typically split-shifts, primarily weekends (Friday thru Sunday), with occasional hours throughout the week. Job hours vary based upon season and is currently offered as a contract, part-time position, with a minimum of 10 hours per week and a maximum of 30 hours. Overtime/After-hours pay is available

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow Next Door Rentals systems and procedures 
  • Serve as an excellent company representative
  • Communicate effectively with the Warehouse Manager and Office, providing regular updates to ensure that sales and customer needs are met 
  • Prepare, load, unload, and assist in the maintenance of rental equipment, and storage facilities
  • Ensure rental orders are always on time and verify that delivered items are correct, in accordance with customer contract
  • Safely operate company and rental vehicles – cargo van, mini van, and/or up 15’ box truck – while observing all traffic laws 
  • Maintain vehicle in clean and good working condition and inspect and inform NDR of any required repairs or damage during trips
  • Maintain accurate delivery and return records
  • Inform customers about proper equipment operation
  • Perform other duties as requested. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not required.
  • Valid PA Driver’s License, with clean driving record
  • Must be familiar with local roads and be able to read a map 
  • Knowledge of events and rental products and safety standards
  • Level attitude and ability to work well with diverse groups of people
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed including long hours, odd hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have a full range of motion and dexterity and be able to lift 70lbs 
  • Basic construction skills preferred
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to transport self to and from work
  • Pass a background check
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance; punctual 
  • Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic, be able to work as part of a team 
  • Must be proactive and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to define and prioritize problems and resolve them quickly

COMPENSATION
$17-$20/hour; Weekly pay; Overtime available
